Papercut Tree—Blue Spruce Tree with Elk
Even if visitors stays only one night at Estes Park, on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, they are sure to see elk that have become so comfortable around humans that they hardly notice us. Four such elk stand at the base of Judith Meyers’s Blue Spruce papercut tree, which she constructed with blue and black papers. The long eared squirrels, Stellar’s Jays, and other creatures typical of the Rocky Mountains adorn the boughs of the tree, which measures 10 inches from its base to the tip of a star on its top. The tree comes with a protective folder, a mailing envelope, and a vellum insert giving directions for use and handling.
