Round Antler Basket Santa Fe Style
A small antler surrounds half the rim of this round basket by Barbara Mincer. Barbara wove the base of the basket in the Santa Fe style and the sides mostly in Japanese Arrow weave. The unusual decorative hand blown glass beads came from an Oregon rendezvous. Barbara is a spinner as well as a basket maker, and she used Columbia sheep’s wool to spin the yarn for the dangling beads. A white-tailed deer shed the antler naturally. The basket is 7 in tall from its base to the top of the rim. It is 9 ½ in across at its widest part.
